How do I set up an Extended Job Shadow?
​(more than 8 hours)

*** You may be eligible for an extended job shadow experience (observation only) if it is a requirement of applying to graduate school, or if currently enrolled in a college or university and a shadow is a curriculum requirement.   If you are unsure of what you need, reach out to your school for more information, or one of the site contacts below.***
Step 1: Identify the career you would like to shadow. 
 Step 2: Email completed application and health requirements form to the contact person of the organization where you hope to do a job shadow.
  • If student is under age 18, parent/guardian MUST sign form.
  • Application form and proof of all health requirements must be sent in entirety to the appropriate site contact.

Step 4: Important Reminders
  • It will take a minimum of two weeks for a facility representative to get back to you in regards to your application.
  • If you have to cancel once your shadow has been scheduled, call the facility contact person above and let them know you are not able to make your shadow.  It will be up to them to decide if they are able to reschedule or not.
  • Adhere to the dress code policy as listed in the information form.  Professional dress (no jeans, open toe shoes, etc.) is enforced.
  • Eat something before you arrive.
  • Turn off your cell phone!
