About FVHCA's Uniformity Committee
The FVHCA Uniformity committee is a dynamic and energetic group of individuals who meet every month to discuss forms and processes; we also brainstorm on how to improve day to day operations from both the facility and school perspective.
The committee works hard to improve communication amongst healthcare providers and schools, especially regarding clinical placements, in the Fox Valley area. We've standardized many forms processes among healthcare providers and schools in order to more easily provide information.
There is now a common clinical request form for FVHCA member organizations, a required student/faculty information form (which is submitted after a placement is secured), and general orientation learning modules (where the industry standard topics of infection control, OSHA blood borne pathogens, safety, HIPPA, and confidentially and compliance training are covered) are now available on-line. All of these things were done to maximize the amount of time students are actually learning at their clinical placement site, rather than filling out paperwork and repeating other processes.
Keep in mind, students must still cover orientation materials for each specific site (things that change amongst providers such as code information, where to park, fire drill information) before arriving on campus.
