High School / Adult Job Shadow

Exploring Opportunities in HealthCare

Welcome High School Students and Adults!

Job Shadowing is a very effective way to learn more about health care and explore health care career options.

In order for High School students to be eligible for an individual job shadow, they must have attended a Career Experience event (see Career Experience page).  Opportunities for High School students/adults to job shadow consist of 8 hours or less. In order to help ease the process of Job Shadow possibilities exploration, FVHCA has put together some tools and guidelines. We hope you'll find the following of great benefit, and we wish you all the best in your exploration of the great and rewarding field of health care!  Adults will follow the same step by step process and complete the high school/adult application, if necessary leaving blank all of the school information.  Adults DO NOT need to attend a “Career Experience”.

Step by Step Process to Obtain a High School and Adult Job Shadow Opportunity

*Please Note: (1) An 8 hour or less Job Shadow does not require a TB test, and (2) Health Requirements are only needed for a Job Shadow in the following areas: Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). If you have a job shadow in these areas, you will need to complete a health requirement form.

!If you are unable to attend your Job Shadow please contact the Human Resource/Training Department representative as soon as possible. If you “no call, no show” do not expect to reschedule your job shadow.

If you're still unsure about the process talk to a counselor at your school or contact the facility's job shadow coordinator. If you have general questions about job shadows or which facility would best suit your needs, Jill Niemczyk is happy to help. In addition to email, she can be contacted via phone at (920) 652-0238.
