About FVHCA's Education Outreach Committee (FHVCA-EOC)
The Education and Outreach committee was recently formed at the request of the FVHCA members. The group works to combine the current education and outreach activities of all FVHCA healthcare organizations and educational facilities under one joint FVHCA effort. The idea is to best maximize resources while providing greater learning opportunities to the seven county region. The committee currently communicates with area high school teachers and counselors on how to best meet the needs of the area while also revamping the current system.
FVHCA-EOC Goals
- Increase the number of students who receive information about healthcare careers.
- Increase the amount and intensity of information about healthcare careers.
- Create a structured format that can be easily advertised to students in advance of semester start date to aide students and schools in the preparation of healthcare careers classes.
- Better manage the increasing demand for on-site career exploration and job shadows.
